AT-101 Kingdom Principles of Faith
This course will build and strengthen the student’s knowledge of Bible truths regarding the key doctrines of the Christian faith. The student will be able to identify situations where faith must be exercised. This course also stresses the importance of proper spiritual foundations for life and ministry by focusing on the foundations of the Christian faith.
AT-102 Principles of Spiritual Warfare
This course explains the nature of spiritual conflicts – good and evil, with a focus on understanding the Enemy and his tactics. Students will examine strategies based on Biblical principles and will learn that the devil cannot destroy the Christian – that he can only rob the Christian of joy and mislead the Christian in his loyalties and endeavors if the Christian allows him to. Each student will be encouraged to engage in warfare daily.
AT-103 Healing From A Biblical Perspective
In this course, we will study the nature, purpose, and use of Spiritual Gifts, and how they bring healing into the Church through the power of God, giving the student a clear understanding that healing is God’s will for His children!
BB-101 Old Testament Survey
In this course, students will receive a broad overview of the entire Old Testament, demonstrating how each book fits into the entire story of the Bible. We will discuss the historical background, subject matter, writer characteristics, and overall message of each book.
BB-102 New Testament Survey
This course gives the student a broad overview and perspective of the entire New Testament within the context of history, geography and cultural context of its time. It brings out the chief events, Biblical characters and overall message of every book regarding God’s ongoing plan for mankind. We will also examine the setting of the Early Church.
BU-101 Basic Church Administration and Accounting
This course will give the student an inside look at the principles of accounting and administration, bookkeeping and proper management of finances and property. We will cover various types of church government, church staffing, employment practices, office management, and legal requirements.
CE-101 Philosophy of Christian Education
This course explores the theories and practices of Christian education in the church, including theological frameworks, faith formation, teaching methods, and models, curricular materials, and the planning and leadership of educational programs.
CH-101 Introduction to Church History
In this course, students will be introduced to the establishment and development of the Christian Church and World History. There will be references regarding the Reformation and its impact upon Church History, Europe and America, including significant events and the social/political influences of the time. In this course, we will also cover the periods, eras and epochs of Church History including how the Church grew and developed in a very hostile environment. We will study leaders and enemies of the Church and the survival of vicious attacks experienced by the Church.
CH-102 The Charismatic Movement
This course will explore Church movements from a Pentecostal perspective, emphasizing the nature of the Church, its organization and its work. It will also examine the development of the 20th Century move of the Holy Spirit and issues in the current Charismatic Movement.
CH-103 America’s Providential History
This study of God working in American events reveals HIS-story! In America’s Providential History, we will examine the history from a Christian perspective. Since God is the Author of history and He is carrying out His plan in the earth through history, any view of the history of America, or any country, that ignores God is NOT true history. God is sovereign over His creation and history in the earth and is at work in all events to accomplish His purpose for mankind. This course takes a providential view of the history and the people who God anointed as founders of this nation. We will highlight the Providence and Purposes of God in the growth of America and the faith of our founders. Understanding this will provide a proper framework in which other historical information can be properly placed. In this course, we will also study the various types of governments in America, the branches of government, the powers of each government, and the shared powers of governments.
BU-102 Starting A Christian Business
This course is an overview of the basic foundational survey of business designed to acquaint the student with the functions of the business and the various aspects of the curriculum. Included will be an exploration of the use of biblical principles in business and practical how-to steps in creating the foundations of a successful Christian business.
EN-102 Public Speaking and Debate
The student will study the various forms of public speaking and appropriate use, covering the steps for preparation and methodology of delivery that makes a good speech. We will examine various topics such as assessing your audience, styles of effective speech, and humor and public speaking. Each student will have many opportunities to practice these skills in the classroom setting. We will also look at public speaking from a Biblical perspective.
HH-101 Introduction to Hermeneutics and Homiletics
This course evaluates the various systems of interpretation, introduces the field of hermeneutics, describes the various levels of meaning, examines the basic principles and practice of biblical exegesis enabling the student to develop the skills required for Scriptural interpretation, based on grammatical, contextual and historical research. This course focuses on the importance of God’s Word, its revelation, and its inspiration. The student will also learn how to prepare and deliver effective sermons and lessons, with a strong emphasis on the spiritual preparation of materials being presented.
ME-101 Introduction to Church Media
This introductory course is designed to give the student an overview of the media ministry, including television production, camera operations, lighting, audio and video, graphics, the basics of a production team, as well as to convey the importance and power of using integrated elements of media in communicating the Gospel. This course will show the student how to implement an effective media ministry as well as information on practical matters such as equipment and software needs, along with some practical hands-on training.
PC-101 Introduction to Christian Counseling
This course focuses on developing a Christian approach to counseling and gives an overview of basic human behavior and response. It will help the student to apply biblical principles to real-life counseling situations. The student will survey causes, effects, counseling considerations and suggested ways to deal with or prevent problems. Each student will learn that without the counsel of God’s Holy Spirit, there is no effective counseling.
EN-101 English Composition
This grammar and composition course will equip each student with the skills for written expressions in the English language. We will cover literary models of composition and practice various forms of writing. Emphasis on proper grammar, sentence structure, etc. is reviewed. The student will develop clarity, correctness, and effectiveness in written expression. The rules learned in English are put into practice by writing a course thesis.
PC-102 Basic Pastoral Care
This course in basic pastoral care is designed to acquaint the student with the biblical, theological, and psychological components necessary for contemporary pastoral care. In addition to exploring models of the minister a coordinator, giver, and recipient of care, the course will address personal, congregational and social issues commonly encountered in the practice of ministry. This course also includes hands-on experiences in learning and practicing the fundamental skills necessary for effectively listening, communicating, and knowing how to deal with various encounters and avoiding burnout. It will deal with the skills needed to deal with issues like helping people who are experiencing grief, loss, and relational problems, as well as doing hospital visitations, participation in special occasion services such as funerals, bereavement, weddings, baptismal preparation and communion services.
TH-101 Basic Bible Doctrines
This course will explore Bible doctrines such as The Canon and Inspiration of Scripture; the knowability and attributes of God; the work of the Holy Spirit, the Trinity, Jesus Christ, and Salvation; the doctrine of Man and Sin; the Church, Angels, Eschatology and much more.
UM-101 Introduction to Evangelism
This course is designed to teach the student about the multi-cultural environment of the city – that new method of evangelism are required. Specialized outreach cross-culturally, regarding youth, homosexuals, the homeless, various ethnic groups, etc. are examined. A critical analysis of discipleship strategies is also a part of this course.
UM-102 Biblical Principles for Race Relations
This course will examine the controversies of race and religion in various cultures, with special attention to issues of religion, politics, class, and gender. This introductory course will broaden the student’s perspective on Biblical issues and how they relate to society and the Church in the 21st century.
PC-103 Christian Leadership
This course communicates the dynamics and distinguishing characteristics of Biblical leadership. We will review the grounds and essentials for leadership in the local church.
